50 users
I think there are too many people access this personal information.
no log on to the network
There should be a log on for the network to make people private stuff secure it also gives you what people been doing on the network.
internet (unrestricted access)
Because they should be working and they should not be looking at bad things on the internet.
staff are ‘allowed’ to install and remove software
They should not be installing stuff in a business because you could make a virus on the computer. Also you shouldent remove software because you can loose your information.
data is backed up once a month
Atleast everyday they should be doing back up and i think once a month is to litle and should be doing one at lunch time and one at the end of the day.
data tapes are kept secure in a locked plastic box on top of the server
Its good that is kept in a locked box but plastic box its not a fire proof and the fact that is kept in the top of the server that it could cause a fire it should be kept off site.
the company keeps records in a database on customer
I would give a password only to staff member that needs access to database they have to insure that rules of the data protection act are followed.
Email is availabe to all
I would give each staff member an email acount for work and password protected.
IP address log is not kept of sites visited.
They should do it so they can see what staff are doing and looking at on the internet this can be done through staff loging on to the computer.
No firewall is in place.
They have to get fire walls to protect the computers from getting viruses
No restrictions on internet access.
I would restrict the internet to see wat they look at and how often they use it
Downloads are not monitored
I would stop them to download because they could make a viruses and too much memory
Entrance doors are not protected by keypad etc..
I would put keypads so no one trys to stel stuff.
